ADVERTISING POLICY - ISACA Ottawa Valley Chapter, effective March 26, 2008

Paid Advertising: The Chapter Webmaster may - subject to concurrence of the Chapter Board of Directors - provide space for paid advertising content on the pages of the Chapter's website (www.isaca-ottawa.ca). Advertising content may be submitted as HTML script provided to us by the advertiser that can be inserted into an html page at our discretion. Such scripts must be free from cookies, malicious code, phishing script, or any other type of code that extracts data from the Chapter's web service. Alternatively, advertising content may be submitted as a link to a bona fide external site, a text file or a word-processed file containing unformatted advertising copy, an image file in a standard image file format (.gif, .jpg, .bmp) containing a brand image/ logo, and /or a message: the image file must be re-sizable to a minimum (w x h) size of 100 px x 40 px at our discretion.

ISACA Ottawa Valley Chapter and its directors, agents, and volunteers shall not be liable for any damages, claims, demands or causes of action, direct or indirect, special, incidental, consequential or punitive, as a result of the use of the site or any information obtained on it or any other interaction with ISACA Ottawa Valley Chapter or ISACA International. In doing so, the purchaser agrees to waiving voluntarily and unequivocally any liability of ISACA Ottawa Valley Chapter or ISACA International.

Who may place advertisements?

Any individual, company or organization may place advertisements, for which charges will be levied. The approving individual or representative agrees to assume full and personal responsibility for any unpaid charges or queries by website visitors.

Scope of website advertising

Advertisements can be placed on the ISACA Ottawa Valley Chapter website for job opportunities, consulting opportunities, professional development courses and training courses, as well as for other goods or services that in the judgment of the Webmaster may be relevant to Ottawa Valley Chapter members and website visitors, provided that the advertisements are not harmful, illegal or offensive. Pop-up ads are not permitted.

ISACA Ottawa Valley Chapter reserves the right to decline an advertisement at any time, for any reason. Should an advertisement be unsuitable for inclusion on the ISACA Ottawa Valley Chapter website, the advertiser will be informed by e-mail. By the same token, any advertiser that quotes a valid authorization in an e-mail requesting advertising will be duly charged for subsequently posted content.

Period of website advertising

The minimum advertising period, per advertisement, is

  • Opportunities: 90 days - for job and consulting postings.

  • Training and Professional Development: 90 days, or starting from the posting date to the date of the course, seminar, workshop or professional development or training event, whichever comes first.

  • In the event that the ISACA Ottawa Valley Chapter website suffers failure and is inaccessible for a period of time, that same period of time can be claimed by the advertiser to post a further advertisement time, but not as a refund. Any such claim must be made in an email to info@isaca-ottawa.ca

    A simple procedure for requesting web advertising

    A request to place an ad on the ISACA Ottawa Valley Chapter website can be made simply by email (info@isaca-ottawa.ca), with a MS-Word attachments for a job or consulting poster, a logo image file (if required) and the following information:

    Advertiser's (organization's) website address
    Name, job title, email address and full telephone number of person authorizing placement of the ad
    Statement agreeing to advertising rate.
    Number of consecutive advertising periods.

    The advertisement will be placed immediately once we have received approval to post the ad. Payment, in Canadian funds, must be received at the Chapter's address (below) within 10 days of our confirmation email to ensure an uninterrupted publication period. At this time we accept cheques only payable to:
